A multi-domain direct boundary element formulation for particulate flow in microchannels

In the present study, a multi-domain boundary element formulation is developed for high surface-area-to-volume ratio problems (i.e. particulate flow in aspect microfluidic channels, porous medium or devices with repetitive structures). The solution domain decomposed into subdomains and variable condensation technique implemented. matrices are built each subdomain, updated at time step only which particles move step. Ghost domains, fictitious domains encapsulating interfaces between subdomains, also introduced to treat crossing subdomains. reveals that computation of subdomain further simplified composed periodic structures. results our study revealed speed-up values as 50 achievable current formulation.
